socialism is evil. and one of the prmary fundamental beliefs of socialism, socialist societies, and socialists is the devaluing of the individual.

it is an insidious thing.

socialism touts the collective (like the borg). socialism touts the collective, the group, the public good above the needs of the individual. the needs of the many outwiegh the needs of the individual.

this is the basic socialist principle that fosters death camps. although, yes it is true, socialism does not MAKE death camps happen. it fosters them. it is an easy step to dispose of undesirable individuals if the needs of the state are served by their elimination.

stalin used the notion of death camps, of the gulag, of internal exile as a way to eliminate opponents to his czarist designs. hitler used them to eliminate who he perceived as threats to the aryan race. the khmer rouge used them to consolidate power through enemy elimination.

but whomever was doing it, it was always justified as, for the good of the collective in some way.

even the odd nazi national socialism often mislabeled as rightist did the same thing. many will point to the shards of the free market in nazi germany as proof that it wasn’t running a socialist economy and therefore wasn’t socialist. but in fact. the death camps which brought us the holocaust was socialist. the free marketers came in later, with ammendments to the socialist agenda of jewish eradication in germany and through in the free market add on of working them first.

don’t believe it? watch schindlers list. jews were dieing. socialists were killing them. realists were more concerned with how to make a buck off them. both suck. and were wrong, but oskar schindler was not a socialist. he was a realist. war profiteer and all. and he later in fact even BOUGHT his workforce. and he bought them from national SOCIALISTS.
