So Christmas was nice.
It started snowing on Christmas Eve and snowed for 36 hours or so. we didnt get 2 full feet of snow because there was a lot of water on the ground before it started to snow, but about midnight, the start of Christmas day, it started to stick.
The lake between my b hut and the showers reappeared. Theyre trying to pump it dry now, but it is frozen.
The army did a good job with Christmas dinner. I had ham (which I absolutely HAD to have, given the country Im in) and turkey. Green beans, instant mashed potatoes, and alcohol free sparkling grape juice.
We settled in that evening, happy and merry as could be to watch an episode or two of deadwood. Im almost done with season 1 now. And around 10:30, the power went out.
Yeah, our two crappy heaters didnt even have power to act like they were successfully heating our house. I wore sweats to bed, and a polartec fleece. I had three blankets and still froze my tukhas off. I guess it was somewhere around 0 degrees in our little hut. Thats Fahrenheit.
In the morning, I avoided the slush pit that is the lake between my house and the showers hoping not to fall in. were basically walking on icy sandbags to get there.
But, what can I say? I volunteered.
Hope yall like the pics! Im going to try and upload them, but the damn earthquake off the coast of Taiwan is killing our internet here. So Ill see if I can get them uploaded.
More to come.
My families ate 2 Turkeys combined and I ended up eating it 3 days in a row. Yum!
We only have a light dusting of snow so far. I’m disappointed. I wanted to do some skiing.
Stay warm!
OH man, that sucks! On the bright side, i’ve tagged you…just what you wanted to hear right? lol. Keep Warm!!!
Happy New Year Mlah. Hope you haven’t gotten more snow.
Sorry I forgot to wish you Merry Christmas. Stay safe and have a Happy New Year.
