everybody remember my ducks?

i have this pair of ducks nesting right by my walkway. there are at least 6 eggs in the nest.

well, there were.

now there are only 4. and the nest has been empty for a while.

i don’t know for sure who broke those two eggs. the shells are scattered all over the area surrounding the nest.

i like to think that none of the neighborhood boys were stupid or calous enough to do it. it’s a possibility, but not certain.

i don’t think it was a dog. dogs are cool.

could have been a cat. cats are evil like that. they’d totally try to blame a dog too.

hmmm, guess what that leaves.

rodents.

now some peoplke like to call them squirrels. but that’s just the polite politically correct term. quoting michael j fox on spin city, ‘squirrels are just rats with good PR’. i agree.

and they’re always staring at you with those wee beady eyes. there’s something going on in there. they’re thinking. they’re plotting.

fortuneately for me, my black rocket lava lamp has held them at bay from my apartment thus far. i don’t know how long that will last though.

i’ve been reading where other bloggers have been having trouble with squirrels. like kristin and lauren over at madpony. you’ll have to search through their archives, but there are a couple of entires about varmint trouble.

be on the lookout. the squirrels are out there. and they’re watching!
