ever seen the movie ‘a few good men?’ starring demi moore and the crackpot tom cruise. they play sailor officers defending a couple of enlisted marines that accidentally killed another while beating him up.
this post isn’t about the details of beating someone up. it’s not about bullying people either.
it’s about how we as men treat women. i promise you’ll be upset if you read to the end.
the two guys killed the third when they did a ‘code red’. they basically whooped him for being a pansy. at least what they perceived as a pansy.
during the trial, tom cruise was the lead attorney. he had two assistants. one was demi moore, and the other was a little weasley guy. and you could perceive a palpable desire by demi to exonerate the marines for the accidental killing. the marine who died turned out to have an undiagnosed medical condition which led to his lack of marinelyness, and to his dieing when someone pushed a sock into his mouth. it’s a little far fetched. but hey, stranger things have happened.
while demi wants to get the two guys off (heh!) the little weasley guy wants them to pay. i didn’t really pick that sentiment up very well. and i’ll tell you why in a minute. the little weasley guy perceived the two as bullies.
after a day of the trial, and they were all going home for the evening except for the accused. demi and weasley guy had a bit of a verbal showdown. demi had finally had enough of weasley guys bad attitude about (he had done everything asked in their defense but just wasn’t enthused about helping them) working on the defense. so she confronted him and demanded to know why he hated them so.
and he simply replied that it was because they were bullies. because they were stronger, and picked on someone who was weaker.
then weasley guy demanded of demi to know why on earth she liked them so.
and she simply replied that she liked them because they stood on walls. and would tell her, ‘not tonight, not on my watch’
and it hit me pretty hard. i didn’t pick up weasley guys reluctance and dislike because i identified with the defendants. i agreed with demi.
i didn’t have to think very long about whether or not i was the kind of guy to stand on walls, and defend others.
now, i said this post was about he we as men treat women. so you girls please just take this with a grain of salt, but i put out all of the hubbub about standing on walls to make my position clear. some of you may identify with weasley guy. that’s your prerogative. but not me.
now i promised i’d make you mad.
Nazanin, is a 17 year old iranian girl. she went out on a motorcycle ride with two guys and her 16 year old neice. they went to a park for a nice picnic. and were assaulted by some thugs. turned out they were military (assholes, we’re there to defend girls, not attack them). the two picnicing guys very quickly fled on their motorcylces, leaving the two girls to the mercy of multiple assholes.
the raping began. but little 17 y.o. Nazanin decided she wasn’t getting raped. she stabbed first assailant in the chest.
good for her.
except for one thing. iran is a muslim theocracy and mohammed was very clear about rape. to convict someone of rape you have to have 4 credible eyewitnesses. credible means men. muslim men. my testimony would not help. nor did her neices testimony. well, it helped a little.
seems the qoran says that it takes 2 women testifying tp equal the testimony of 1 man. hey, it’s the demand of mohammed.
needless to say, Nazanin did not have 4 eyewtinesses to testify for her. or a mix of the 8 muslim girls, or 4 muslim guys.
know what that means? the asshole is dead, remember? what do you call it if a girl kills someone and he was not trying rape her? or kill, or assault or anything else for that matter.
it’s called murder.
yep. Nazanin was condemned to death for murder and will shortly hang.

Ok, I’m going to admit that even though I have been to Iraq and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I still know next to nothing about their religion. But it’s pretty messed up if their religion gives that much freedom to men and has so little disregard for female life. I could never be a muslim. Thank GOD I was born in America with all the freedom that comes with being an American. That poor girl. :`(

Judging by the posts there is a spectrum of views, each illustrating some form of frustration and anger. I personally dont beilieve in any form of religion or god, which makes life very easy. hehe, Moreover, no such act as rape exists… its called suprize sex.
