How do Republicans deal with the inner-city? The prison system. And military enlistment. Talk about control… Nobody makes anybody vote any way in America, what happens in that voting booth is between you and your conscience. It is indeed racist of you to suggest that blacks can’t even make up their own minds. Why have the Republicans taken over the South? Because since 1964 Democrats have sacrificed themselves on the altar of better race-relations in this country.
And again, the myth of rampant welfare queens has been so hugely and happily blown out of proportion by the right at this point. Democrats prosecute welfare fraud, too. Tell us how many dollars are involved here, give us a reliable figure. Whatever it is, then put it in context, compare it with what the gov’t spends on corporate welfare, the military, etc. And since the Republicans have had control of Congress, aren’t they the ones who have been allowing it? You are so tripping. You really have to ask yourself why welfare hasn’t been abolished yet. Maybe because some Republicans find it worthy? You’re argument is so out of date (and yes, basically racist– I think most welfare recipients are white). Contact your representatives in congress for more information, I fucking dare you.

So, a greater % of welfare recipients were White than Black in 1992 and 1994. White recipients are declining as a percentage of total recipients, while Hipanics are taking up Whites’ slack. Blacks went down a tick in the 90’s and back up a tick. I know the total # of Hispanics in the country is rising, so that may explain the growth. Conversely, I wonder if the White population is simply shrinking %-wise?

and further gussie boy. congress can set some curriculum guidelines, but local school boards have the most impact on the performance of a school. and in democrat districts, democrats run the school boards. most of those schools are failing.

Are poor whites in the inner-city widely known to vote Democrat? That doesn’t ring any bells with me. But blacks are widely known to do so, so while you may not say “blacks” out loud, it’s the only logical group. If you didn’t want people to conjure up that image, then you wouldn’t have used the loaded phrase “slave masters”. Either you’re a horrid, careless writer or you’re talking in transparent racist code– please admit to one or both in front on the class right now.
Schools have plenty of other problems. If they’re funded from local property taxes, schools in poor areas lack books, repairs, on and on, and most of the better teachers won’t want to work there because of those deficits. Then you have some heroic, awesome teachers striving to teach there anyway, and how many of them are repuglicans? I would guess precious few. You’re so high. Poverty leads to uhappy, unhealthy people, lots of single-parent homes, etc. You’re blissfully ignoring that whole cycle. No one wants anyone to fail, how bloody absurd it that? You can’t be taken seriously with such a crock of paranoid hooey. And political affiliation is a two-way street– Democrats do indeed “profit in the voting booth from the inner city poor”, but by the same token, the inner city poor profit from sticking with the Dems, cuz the repubs aren’t looking out for them worth a damn. Now, we have a black Republican Lieutenant Governor in this state, and he is pilloried by your ilk as a sell-out to his race, of all things, because he has “a white wife.” (She happens to have light skin.) Let’s not get into the “Aunt Jemima” denigration of Condi Rice, nor the “Uncle Tom” dismissal of Collin Powell, not the campaign of hate directed against Clarence Thomas.
