Davidschwarzenegger is the man. he just called democrats, who think our economy is not doing well, economic girlie men. bush senior gave him a standing ovation. he’s actually a very good orator, accent included.
was that a great speech or what? i have seen with my own two eyes, former president bush standing up and holding an arnold sign.
the bush twins are hot. and they made fun of their parents a little.
When he says “girly men” I just die laughing. That is the funniest damn thing I’ve ever heard.
Laura’s speech was nice too. I thought it was cool when Bush Sr. and Barbara held the “We Love Laura” signs up.
But yes Arnold is pretty damn good ..
I wasn’t too crazy about the Bush Girls. Actually I liked the Kerry Girls better.
BUT…….Arnold is the man. He , in my estimation, had the best speech of all the ones I have listened too, including the Democrat Convention. ( The only other one I really thought was a rousing speech was John Edwards)
Arnold went right to the point of his Immigrant status, and the incredible determination, perseverence and spunk he displayed in his pursuit of his American dream….and his appreciation of this country…and it came through in his speech. He has a great dynamic presence too, and holds your attention…………..he wasn’t the Terminator for nothing………..
My Dad is an Austrian Immigrant too, so I guess I can relate to that.
The only problem that I have is that no one had seen or heard the other speeches, unless you watched cspan, which we did.
I think that Ron Silver, a professed democrat and actor, did an excellent job with his speech on the first night. He haas said many times that he may not agree with the president on social issues but given the times of today he is the best choice as president. He even took a stab at his fellow “actors” saying that they have been blind-sided by their hatred and the dems because these are the same people who go into uproar about human rights abuses, etc but who are not willing to do what is necessary to combat the evil people.
A woman from Iraq also spoke about her country and experience. Angie Harmon and Jason (?) Seahorn honored a couple veterans from the Korean War. Lt. Gov Michael Steele talked about his position and race in politics. The list is endless of those who no one really sees.
I would like to see the young protesters outside tell the woman from Iraq how it was awful of America to help her country win freedom from Saddam.
I look forward to the rest of the speeches.
If you want to see the “real” republican party base, then all one needed to do was listen to Arnold. He was extraordinary.
dude, he was so cool. I heard that they didn’t want him to say that because it was “offensive” to some group or whatever. whoever they were, they need to just suck it up.
Arnold could run for President if he keeps giving speeches like that!!!!! Seriously, he does speak well, and knows how to find those phrases that stick in your mind and make you yell YYeah!!!

The giuliani speech was still the very best- still, Ah-nold was awesome. Damn, we got some good guys in the Republican party- why in the hell aren’t they doing any better?
