so we went out drinking last night in wiesbaden.

i got my coworker kevin to Not go to a bar called ‘yours’. it’s a nice enough bar, but it’s full of guys. and i’m just not looking for their company.

we went and had dinner at a german restaurant called friedrike’s wurst house. he had schintzel, and i had the curry wurst. it trned out to be a foot and a half long hotdog, sans bun, with curry sauce on it. i wasn’t real happy about getting a hotdog vice some kind of brat, but it was good anyway.

tried my german out on my waitress saskia, who was hot, but german waitresses are busy. they just don’t have the time to chat like waitresses in the us do.

after dinner, we moved over to ‘scrooges’ pub. it was slow and full of waitresses. i hit on a couple of german girls and didn’t really get anywhere. i did with one of the bartenders though. her name was alina, from moscow. tall skinny. she really didn’t give me any play til she found out i was a computer geek. she’s in school for java and all of a sudden i was much better looking.

then kevin bagged on me and went to yours. i stayed. some eloder english guy came over to talk to me. he’s been ‘on the continent’ for a while and was happy to speak to someone else who spoke english. he talked politics for a bit, and then asked about my opinions for teaching creationism in school. i schooled him on the notion of intelligent design. he’d never heard of it.

nice enough guy. talked to me about half an hour. gave me a list of places to go and not go if i venture up to london.

then he left and i went back to scamming chicks. it had gotten busy by this time. then i noticed that some of the troops i was working with were in the bar. i bought them shots, and they made me do a nasty challenge shot of sambuca/tequila/tobasco. tobasco doesn’t frighten me so it was no big deal. after that, i was in the clique for the rest of the night. one of them, was quite attractive and my talking to her pissed off alina.

damnit.

we went dancing around midnight, after i was trashed. no dancing til mlah is thoroughly trashed.

i went home early around 1.

now. said troops are a week or less from deploying to iraq. tonight they are heading over to a stripper bar in frankfurt. kevin and i may just have to venture over there and wish them good luck.
