What You Don't Hear

i’ve always believed the msm slants reporting of the news to their desires. and in the case of iraq, that’s with a liberal anti war slant.

Red Sugar posted a letter from one of her cousins, giving a much better account of our actions and successes in iraq.

I’ve been watching the war in Gaza fairly closely. Not close enough to call myself an expert by any means, but probably more closely than most. So Hamas did start…

    1. My cousin just got back from Iraq last week. He spent part of last summer convalescing at that fabulous vacation spot Fort Knox from wounds received in theater. He couldn’t wait to get back to his troops (he spent Gulf War I floating in the Persian Gulf, but this time he got to lead his troops on the ground). At Christmastime he wrote all us friends and family back in the US and told us not to send any presents for the troops. They were doing fine. But what they really wanted, needed in fact, were paper notebooks and pencils for the local Iraqi children, since the schools couldn’t afford them.

Meanwhile, Dan Rather and the NYT (heck, the entire Mainstream Media) were busy telling us how demoralized the troops were over in Iraq, how they hated being there, how much the Iraqis hated us because we were only killing civilians, and all sorts of tripe like that.

And Liberal activists like Gus (a troll commonly found lurking around Mlah’s place) were taking to the streets in protest, spitting on soldiers and calling them baby-killers (all the while demanding that we ignore the evidence we see and consider the Liberals to be “for the troops” or else!) and demanding that W stop this insane exchange of “blood for oil.”

Then January rolls around, more Iraqis vote (per capita) than even bother to do so in the US, and the Liberals all cry foul. It’s a set-up, Wolfowitz somehow manipulated the results, the Pentagon is using some sort of Propaganda beam to make people THINK they were voting when they really didn’t leave their houses for fear of getting killed (not by the Terrorists, but by the Americans, of course). Then the Pentagon snuck crack teams of Delta Force commandos into their homes while they were sleeping and smeared purple ink on their fingers. THAT ELECTION COULD NOT HAVE BEEN REAL, because it negated every thing the Leftists had been saying about Iraq and the Middle East for years!!!!

And we still haven’t seen any of that cheap oil the Liberals tell us are supposed to be our reward for invading the timid, non-offensive country lead by that benevolent leader Saddam Hussein. I have to pay $2.05 per gallon to fill up my SUV!

Oh, and my cousin wanted me to send more notebooks and pencils, because the Iraqi kids were going to school so much they used up the other supplies available to them.

The obvious conclusion the Liberals tell us we must take from all of this is that the American invasion of Iraq has done absolutely no good for the Iraqi people, and has made more people than ever hate us, and has merely served to make ours a Hollow Army like we had following that Morass, the Quagmire in Vietnam.

    2. If you don’t read or watch the MSM, then how do you know they haven’t reported on the good parts of the Iraq invasion?

Who questioned the validity of their recent elections? I didn’ t hear anybody doing that. My own view was: Oh, great, another Islamic republic! We will have to wait and see where shari’a ends up in the greater scheme of things.

Here’s the latest on our pre-invasion plans for Iraq’s oil:

Basically, the neocons at DOD and Paul Bremer wanted to privatize it all, but State and Big Oil knew that was asking for trouble. And we wanted to avoid what happened when Russia’s were privatized (i.e., sales were banned to foreigners).

    3. Oh, and maybe we’d get a wider view of what’s going on in Iraq IF IT WERE SAFE TO LEAVE THE FREAKIN GREEN ZONE!

    4. pinhead. the green zone is the only safe part of 1 out of 18 provinces.

the 17 other provinces are very stable. hence, the concentration of american forces in the trouble zone. you shortsighted nitwit.

maybe if the mainstream media reporters (and liberals in general) had any balls, THEY would get outside of the green zone!

    5. Gus, maybe if you spent any time in IRAQ, you might actually have a friggin clue about what you’re yapping! I know that CNN wasn’t reporting the good stuff we were doing in Iraq while I was there because I had a 2 star general walking into my office and telling my coworkers that we needed to make sure CNN wasn’t just reporting on deaths.
That is a fact. It actually happened. I was there to witness it, first hand. There is a lot of reconstruction and rehabilitation going on there that most Americans never see. And it’s people like you, who are so skeptical, but have never worn a uniform and never actually been over there, that like to run off at the mouth just to hear yourself talk. I guess this is how you entertain yourself and your friends. You really think you know what you’re talking about because you read articles on the internet and you watch CNN. Why don’t you volunteer to go to Iraq and put your money where your mouth is. I promise you will learn something.

    6. Gus, anyone serving in the military is a hero, you neanderthal!!! We have put our lives on the line just by being over there regardless of what our jobs are. As if you have a clue about what I was doing there anyway?!! In case you didn’t hear about it, the day after I left the Embassy, the Embassy got hit (a direct hit on the palace) only 50 yards from my office. So until you have put your life on the line for your country, you can’t say dick to me!

    7. I fail to see how just being there makes you ALL necessarily heroes. Courage lies in how one reacts to extraordinary situations, not being pooped out of a transport plane and shuffling papers. I’m happy to call those who’ve been rewarded with medals “heroes” (unless you’re a certain junior Senator from Massachusetts, of course, ya scumbag hypocrites), the rest is just your job, that’s what we (taxpayers) are paying you for, so just shut up and do it and then go home and march in 4th of July parades the rest of your life.

    8. Well, Gus, you just don’t get it anyway…and you never will. That’s why most of the American public support our troops and don’t care what our roles are overseas, just that we did do our part. You, what can you say that you have contributed? Sitting on your sorry butt reading articles on the internet and criticizing people who actually do something to protect the United States. You are ignorant because you don’t realize that if all it took to win this war was scouts shooting at the bad guys, then that’s all we would have over there!!!
