Davidok. so, like, what did i do wrong with my trackback pings? thought i had them all figured out.
but my most recent readings have revealed that i somehow pinged everyone twice.
of course this happened when i corrected some spelling and grammar…. and rebuilt my entry, but how did i ping twice? and how do i not repeat the offense?
In MT the cause of that would be the Trackback Auto Discovery feature.
If you have to update a post it keeps pinging the sites even if you remove them from the to ping feature at the bottom of MT.
To keep it from doing it you would have to turn off the auto discovery then remove the urls from the “to Ping” box at the bottom of MT and then update your post and save it.
But if you have to add new urls and turn the feature back on for that post it will re-ping the pings it did previously too.
It’s one of those MT things – – and is something we just have to deal it – – and I don’t mind that you pinged me twice, makes me feel the ping love 😉
I’m also not sure if those who know more about MT can solve this – – because I’m a newbie and am not sure how to fix many MT issues.
