Davidin light of my disappointment with eureka, i thought i’d give y’all mlah’s preferences for tv watching.
to begin with. college football approaches. i of course get the college football ticket on dishnetwork, so i can watch the games. whichever game si want. last year i got it and then spent the majority of the football season in miami dodging hurricanes. i fear i may get sent out for work again and miss the football season. i just hope i won’t have to dodge anything this time.
some of my favorite shows are in my sidebar and include hbo’s rome, scifi’s battlestar galactica, and cbs’ amazing race.
the last 2 amazing race’s have sucked nuts, so they may lose me as a viewer if this next one also blows. i checked the contestants and none of them look really interesting. looks like it will be the same old show. what they need is a celebrity version or a past racer version. can y’all imagine danny bonaducci on the amazing race? i want to see team mykoskie back!
battlestar has it’s thrid season coming up. if you haven’t seen it at all, you need to rent the miniseries. VERY well done. the original some 25 years ago was a ripoff of star wars. but the new ‘reimagined’ version id an aircraft carrier in space. done very well from a navy point of view, with a few exceptions of course. plus they have an army of terminators hunting them.
rome is awesome. it’s totally a drama. but because it’s on hbo, they don’t have to pull punches for an r rating. they show a little nudity, they cuss, and the violence is well done. a gladiator match is accordinlgy bloody. but don’t get me wrong, rome is a drama. the drama happens to be set around two roman legionairies in the time of caesar. this show is intense.
i stumbled on a new show i have recorded by my dvr. entourage on hbo is a little fun. i enjoy it, but don’t go too far out of my way if i miss it.
some other past shows that i enjoy watching are of course csi. and i watch the original vegas version. new york and miami versions fall by the wayside. i like the shield but haven’t heard of a new season in forever. i really liked tripping the rift on scifi, but i think it has been cancelled. i find myself watching a lot of ultimate fight night on spike.
and this is about it for my tv watching. occasionally, i see something on the military channel. i see a fair amount of odd shows on history.
so there are my recommendations.

Do you get BBC America? You might enjoy this funny show on there called “Ed vs. Spencer”: two real-life friends who compete in some silly challenge every week (who can earn the most money, who can get the drunkest, who does better on dates with the same 3 women, etc.). The loser has to do some sick task of the winner’s choosing at the end. Good, clean guy fun.

lost is irritating the shit out of me. it’s on, it’s not on. it’s a rerun, usually.
if they got their act together where i could watch it and know when i was getting a rerun or not…… i’d watch it more reliably.
just a marketing trick by the studio, and they have pissed me off.
That’s So Raven
I really like the Stargates (both SG-1 and Atlantis). Fun characters, decent plot, and finally a spinoff that doesn’t suck donkey balls.
Dude, LOST’s first season was incredible, the second one bored me to tears.
*sigh* still waiting for the DVD realeas of BSG Season 2.5……. AFN blows.
