That WMD thing was posted Jan. 9 on an independent Israeli site. I don’t doubt the possibility of it, but until something more pans out, there isn’t much to say about it either way.

Who made those claims? All I heard or claimed myself was that the number of foreigner fighters was vastly exaggerated for a long time, which is was.

Not the terrorists who run across the border, but the government’s troops (which, hmmm, are lead by the Syrian Baath Party, which like Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party are the direct descendants of Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Party).
Of course you will doubt anything put out by the US-sponsored non-satellite tv channel in Iraq, believing it to be nothing but propaganda orchestrated by the Pentagon, Gus. Never mind that it is set up as a public service to give information to everyone in the country, and not just those who can afford to pay for satellite. Yet you cleave to the “truth” as published by the likes of CBS News and the New York Times. (Who have yet to renounce all their reports glorifying life in the good-ole Soviet Union, where the average Joe — not just Uncle Joe Stalin — lead the life of Riley. I do not believe Syria’s hands are clean. But if a Syrian agent was in Iraq in 2001, it was more likely to mess with Saddam (the Syrian Ba’ath and the Iraqi Ba’ath weren’t all that fond of each other) (please teach me what they had to do w/ Nazism, I’m actually intrigued about that). And no freaking way all insurgent groups were cover for Syr. intell– maybe he’s just flattering himself, otherwise someone made him say something frightfully stupid. The blues don’t claim that there are _no_ foreign fighters in Iraq. The left merely refuses to buy into the idea that they are _all_ foreign fighters, which is the line that the reds are claiming.
There are foreigners fighting us in Iraq, and there are Iraqis fighting us in Iraq.
