HAMAS MUST LOSE
I’ve been watching the war in Gaza fairly closely. Not close enough to call myself an expert by any means, but probably more closely than most. So Hamas did start…

Why does she matter? She’s dating one of the Kelce’s. Good for them. Hope it works out for them. Who celebrities are dating stopped mattering a long, long time ago…
Ok: Similar question- how many of you believe that the 9/11 wives (and their millions of dollars) are still grieving? Anyone? What about the times they’ve been on TV? What about all the money and the shopping? What about the continued fame and status that they have merely for being the wife of someone who died in the WTC?
Did I question their grief when they spoke out for George W. Bush, a President that I don’t believe has made NYC or the airlines any safer? Did I say “They are doing this for their own benefit, the mediawhores?” Hell no. Even though I saw a few of them crack a smile, and even though I’m sure that they’ve laughed a time or two since 9/11.
Questioning someone’s grief is asinine.
Cindy lost her son last year. Pardon me if I’m sentimental, but you don’t get over grief quite that fast.
Feel free to question her sanity. Feel free to question her politics. But ask yourself- if you lost your son, what would be your deadline on grief?
i think the odds are high that most of the 9/11 moms are past grieving. but not all. i’m not a big fan of absolutes, so i couldn’t say all, either way.
being done grieving does not mean that they have forgotten their loss, or are ok with it. just that they have mentally moved on, and have started to live again.
i don’t remember seeing a gaggle of 9/11 moms, wives, husbands…. chasing around CAIR, or teddy kennedy, or any of the other ‘champions’ of civil liberties, who try to make it easier on muslims at every turn.
i never saw a bus tour. i didn’t see them camped out at chappaquiddick.
my statement stands. i believe cindy shehan is not grieving. she is merely enjoying the circus and pampering that the media and liberal left have created around her.
My husband has told me countless times that the vast majority of soldiers over in Iraq are embarrassed by Cindy Sheehan. Her son was a soldier, and soldiers understand fully that if they go to war, they most certainly can die. Doesn’t matter if they agree with the war, and it matters even less if their friends and families agree with it.
That is all.
I believe she grieved for a while, but now he’s a tool in her political games. What a shame.
And it would take more than one make-up artist to make her palatable.
I know, I can be a bitch sometimes. But she pisses me off, to put it kindly.
She could put her “grieving” to so much more positive use.
funny, I remember the “grieving” 9/11 widows as being champions of the ABB crowd back in the campaign….but that’s ancient history.
Shehan is a media whore, pure and simple, and a tool of her political masters. Look at her best pal Mikey Moore, for hick’s sake.
A great majority of the military folks I’ve dealt with are embarrased by her. Some support her. I get a real kick out of the few who do so vocally. For some reason, they tend to be mostly junior enlisted folk….the same age-group, essentially, that also populate our college campuses (where young folk fall under the thrall of the likes of Juan Cole and Ward Churchill). Check out the letters to the editor section in Stars & Stripes for some interesting takes on Cindy from the front.
Ah, yes, the charming Politics of Personal Destruction at its finest. None of you have any idea of what could possibly be stirring in this woman’s heart, but that doesn’t stop you from trying your best to discredit what she says with the cheapest shots imaginable. Who’s “following their political masters” now? You would never, ever, under any circumstances accept a Liberal suggesting that a 9-11 widow or other mom of a dead service member was wrong for supporting Bush. You’d go ballistic. Get your stories straight, people. Get your f-ing MORALS straight, you disgusting hypocrites-headed-for-Hell. {{VOMIT}}
Cheney, most of us who comment on this woman are or have been soldiers. We understand death. We understand sacrifice. We understand why we chose a life with a higher element of danger to it. So, when a mother acts the way Shehan has, we are disgusted and embarrassed by her actions.
We have the right because we’ve worn the boots.
So be it.
Yuh, get back to me on that AFTER your kid gets killed. This is a Mom, not a soldier. Until then, stick to being “disgusted and embarrassed” by your own actions (specifically, Mme. B, basically putting her down for not being *pretty* enough for your tastes).
Since you’ve already admitted that you can “be a bitch sometimes”, I’ll just second that emotion.
so saith single white 40-something male Gus, the IT professional who has never gotten his fingers dirty doing “real” work, whose idea of “children” are his stash of little Xtasy pills. I’m sure he would grieve as much as Cindy over the loss of his little “children.”
Difference between those pills and Casey is, of course, that Casey, being of sound mind and body, and recognized by the government of the United States as an adult able to enter into binding agreements, did just that. He joined a military which, by definition, exists to kill the enemies of this country, knowing full well that he could be called upon to fulfill the obligations he thus took upon himself and be sent into harm’s way in exchange for the pay and benefits accrued to our soldiers. He went out — honorably and despite whatever personal fears or misgivings he may have had — and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Something those of us who have ever been in uniform have all had to contemplate. His Mom, in her grief, was comforted in person by the President of the United States; she even said she understood how the President grieved with her and was doing his best in his job.
Then along came Mikey Moore, George Soros, and their ilk, with all their cash and the slavish devotion of a willing mass media to turn her into a whore for their cause (that being a continuance of the ABB movement birthed following the first electoral victory of the current President and matured during the most recent campaign). Next thing you know, she is denigrating that same man she was privileged to have received a personal condolence from (how many of our families could expect that, huh?) and being portrayed as Mother f-in Theresa incarnate on the nightly news.
Gus, of course, defends her honor because he is a willing accomplice to her political prostitution. He cites the “Politics of Personal Destruction” — a political technique mastered by his hero Bubba Clinton’s posse — as a tool of those nasty, evil neocons (which by definition is everybody who doesn’t agree with him). We who disagree with him disgust him so. Oh, woe, we have offended the wanking poofter!
strange how certain defenders of shehan know what she is feeling, and that it is real grief we conservatives just can’t comprehend. yet they comprehend it somehow.
if we can’t know it’s not grief, they can’t know it is.
Mlah: I never claimed to know what’s in her heart– only that you can’t. Maybe your guess is right, but we’ll likely never know for sure. What we do know for sure is that you are being presumptuous in an unpleasant way for purely partisan aims.
Yup Dawg: I only wish I could find some X, it’s been years now. BTW I’m still in my 30’s. Before starting in IT several years ago, I worked as: dishwasher (scum & glass shards), prep cook (grease burns, knife cuts), and busboy (sweaty-assed lugging & racing around) in a busy restaurant; 6 years at a beer store (I’ve lifted thousands of kegs of beer); mass records storage/retrieval (more sweaty-assed time-sensitive, strenuous lugging); and even my current IT job isn’t soft-fingered programming/monitoring but yet more lifting of knee-high boxes of paper. So kiss my white ass, motherfucker.
Again, this isn’t about Casey’s free will. It’s about a Mom–who herself has enough free will to do what she’s doing of her own accord (i.e. isn’t being coerced by Moore, Soros, etc.).
“Politics of Personal Destruction” — a political technique mastered by his hero Bubba Clinton’s posse).”
But only perfected by Rove and friends. And Bill was never my hero; he was, as I’ve pointed out to you pinheads several times here already, big in the DLC (Democratic Leadership Council), which advocated going more to the center, while I remained to the left. You don’t like what this woman is saying, so you try every trick in the book to ridicule and destroy her– surely you can agree with that simple statement, yes? Suggesting that she isn’t really feeling certain emotions is a way of dehumanizing her. You’ve called her a
“nasty, evil neocons (which by definition is everybody who doesn’t agree with him)”
I don’t believe I have used that phrase here. Prove me wrong if you can. My definition of it, if I were to be asked, would be restricted to a handful of folks around Cheney.
I do have to admit that I think Scooter is a wank.
Good call, Yup, and big of you to say so publicly. Completely unbeknowst to be, Juan Cole has a new article about all his favorite Neo-Cons around Cheney this morning:
http://www.juancole.com
I neglected to finish my sentence above: “You’ve called her a… WHORE. And MB implied that she was somehow too ugly to be believed, or something. The most personal destruction I can think of, and it’s all over the right-wing blogosphere.”
and let’s not forget i alleged she’s faking just to get free hair cuts.
shameless wench. the only thing worse is the press moguls taking advantage of her.
Don’t get me wrong, Gus. I just think Scooter’s a wank. Same as you or Juan Cole.
I have to wonder what the hell’s the matter with our criminal justice system when they set out to prove a crime, can’t because there was no crime, yet try to convict on the suspect’s denials that they committed a crime (see Martha Stewart). Also, how could they consider Scooter “outing” Ms Flame in June a crime when her own husband claimed that it had been public knowledge as early as March of 2003. I invite you, Gus, to read the amicus brief filed by 30-some news organizations that poke all sorts of holes in the “crime” alleged. It’s rather ironic how hard they worked in the “privacy” of the courtroom (after all, how many stupid citizens bother to read court documents) to invalidate the breathless allegations they publish in public.
What about Sandy Berger? He actually STOLE and (allegedly) DESTROYED singular and irreplaceable classified information from the National Archives (just because it would have made him or his former boss look bad?). But his punishment? No holding of national security jobs for the next 5 years. The GOP staffer who discovered Democrat congresspeople were illegally colluding with public interest groups to block Presidential nominations? Rather than hear about those crimes in the media, all we heard about were declamations over the GOP “hacking” of Dem computer systems! It’s all about whether you belong to the team that the mass media belong to — the liberal cabal of our society. The vast Left-wing conspiracy. The people Gus salivates to follow.
And why the hell doesn’t the Justice Department go after people in the Executive and Legislative when they salaciously leak classified information for their own political agenda? Why not go after them as well? It’s justice for whoever the (LIBERAL) media moguls decide. Our country, it seems to be in danger of becoming nothing more than a faked up “reality” TV show.
