been a long time since i’ve posted anything about tkd. i haven’t been practicing due to my long deployments. i feel it too. i really miss my classes, both mentally and physically. it’s so difficult for me to make myself go workout by myself. i really rely on my classmates, and class itself to make me workout.

my school in texas just emailed me a link to a highlights tape of this guy named serkan yilmaz. he likes to call himself the turkish samurai, which i find humorous, as tkd is korean, not japanese.

but whatever, this guy kicks ass! those of you who aren’t familiar with tkd, i see very little different in what he’s doing in these fights other than what are allowed in a normal tkd match. except!

they get to punch to the face, and they can kick below the waist.

in regular tkd tournaments, we wear pads on our chest, arms, head, shins and not on our hands.
