no this post is not about the mel gibson movie.

a friend of mine who lives up in maryland was at a party recently. he’s new to the hunt. he had serparated his mark from the herd and was moving in for the kill. when a fellow herd member returned to the aide of her species. the wobbly prey looked shell shicked in the glare of the kitchen light.

eventually the task of bringing down two herd members at the same time proved to be too much for our new hunter.

he failed.

a while back, when i was living in spain. the same thing happened to me. iwas at john holloways house on corazon de Jesus in rota town. i was busy chatting with a member of the herd and steadily infusing her with sangria.

loaded with fruit.

and i was making good progress.

in swoops another herdmember who shared a barracks room with her. talked her attention away form me. moved her to a sofa in the main room, full of people.

it was a moral imperative she pay. she knew what she had done too. she looked right at me and smiled. that knowing little smile.

so i went to get more sangria, and oooooops! a plastic cup full of the stuff fell right into the white purse she had set on the floor next to the ice chest with the sangria in it. it was an accident! really!

sometimes karma needs a little bump.
