And of course, a little known situation that had happenned while I was living in Brooklyn. Cops were patrolling Prospect Park when they received a call that a woman was being raped in the park. They had stepped up patrolling there because of these dangers. The cop cars screamed through the park to aid the woman. However, on the way, another vehicle smashed into them, causing critical injuries to the cops (and may have even caused a death of a cop). Upon investigation, it was discovered that the “alleged” victim was actually a feminist who was to speak that weekend at a political rally in the park about there not being enough cops there for protection. They discovered that she had actually lied about the attack.
As we can see in todays media and political activities (particularly during the last year or so) that there are people who are willing to do anything to get their political viewpoints and objectives across. This comes mostly from the left.
Now, I’m not saying that this is what happenned to sgrena but I have just seen too much in my life not to question and be cynical about things like this, especially when the left has pulled out all the stops in trying to demean our troops, the President, the coalition and all Americans. One only needs to look at the actions of our socialist “friends” in this country.

That woman’s false call was indeed unethical, maybe even illegal, but it DID NOT KILL/INJURE ANY COPS. Such an accident could have happened on any call; there is a logical disconnect between your implied cause and effect.

Have you ever noticed how annoying gnats are? They just keep coming back to pester you, even when you ignore them, with nothing else to do but fly around and around. And, since they are so wee in stature, they are very difficult to swipe away. You have to truly feel sorry for them for that is their entire purpose in life-fly around and pester people and make little gnats.
Responding to liberals is like responding to brick walls. They claim they’re so openned minded. They embrace everyone and accept all differences. They are omnipotent and omniscient. Wildlife thrives in its shadow! Driving an SUV (which meets the California-mandated Low Emissions standard, and hwose owner is paying plenty of taxes on the gas it’s burning) through the national forest (on established roads or trails) to get to your homesite is evil, because it might disrupt the enjoyment of the solitude by a hard-core hiker 100 miles from the nearest town? Get real! There’s no “right” to be free of the sounds of fellow human beings! Else I would never have to hear the whining of the likes of Gus!
FMA is only a way of defeating judges who legislate from the bench on behalf of their ideologically like-minded supporters. These judges forget that they are the Third Branch of Government, there to adjudicate matters under the guidance of the Constitution, and instead choose to supplant the Congress in the legislative function. The Supremes forget the oaths they swore to defend the Constitution and instead rely on the laws of Zimbabwe and Germany to “interpret” our legal system. I have stated before (and happen to share the thought) that a majority of conservatives (from polls, admittedly, and we here at Mlah’s have been all over the place about how statistics can be skewed to whatever bent you desire) would accept Civil Unions for homos, as they do for hets (it’s a common law concept), but have problems with the idea of conferring of “marriage.” Marriage carries sacred undertones based on centuries (if not millenia) of religion. I know G-boi is an enemy of religion (with the exception his own brand of Leftist Liberalism, or the Modern Democratic Party, which as Lenin predicted has taken the place of the Church for a large minority of our population), but over 80% of our population defined themselves as Judeo-Christians in the 2000 census. And the Judeo-Christian belief system generally does not accept open homosexuality (something about Sodom, I suppose). And the 3% who are Muslims also do not accept homosexuality based on their religious tenents. Give our society another 50-75 years to absorb the “progressive” viewpoint and we won’t have these worries, as “religion” (except for the Modern Democratic Party) is slowly being squeezed out of our national meme. But for now, people are balking at having these sweeping social changes forced on them, rather than allowing them to just progress naturally. Just look at that great “Progressive” state of Oregon and see how their referendom on gay marriage fared!
And how in the world can the so-called plight of Homosexuals be compared to the ill treatment afforded black people in our country BEFORE Gussy was even born? Homos are not forced to drink from separate fountains, nor sit at the back of the bus, nor denied admission to schools, nor barred from patronizing businesses or (since 1992) serving in the military. Homos as a group (I admit the possibility there may have been a few homosexual black slaves) were never enslaved and made the property of another human, at least not in this country. The whole concept of equating these things is silly.

The inaugural is a valid domestic political event to protest. What’s the whole story about your Honor Guard pals’ presence there? Were they placed so as to intimidate protesters? What were their own actions and words? What was their own a priori attitude toward (legal) protesters (I’ll bet they already hated them)? It was W’s big day, and those standing in symbolic or actual defense of him should have expected some back-talk. I’m certain the vast majority of their spleen was directed at W himself.
