Gangs

Warriors and the Furies

and i use the term loosely.

know what started this long thought chain?

the patriot act.

liberals whine about it. whine that we are giving up our freedoms. somehow, they missed the bus when the govt passed the virtually exact same legislation to beat the mob.

that’s right. the patriot act is a rehash. it is a set of laws that has existed since the 70’s. the only difference is that the govt was authoring extracurricular activited against supposed mobsters. the patriot act just retargets the same set of tactics against supposed terrorists.

now. i didn’t start this thread to whine about the patriot act.

but thinking about the deeper issues of freedoms started me to thinking about what my college poly sci instructor told us on day one of university level civics.

he asked us what a govt was. when everybody sat there looking stupid and saying nothing except for the bookworm, who had read ahead and knew the textbook definition.

(momentary pause for the stevie ray solo in little wing)

aftre the prof kind of shrugged him off he told us.

a government is an organized monopoly of violence.

think about it. the govt can strip you of your freedoms and put you in a little cube. they can deny you a vote. they can say whether or not you can drive, own property, or even travel abroad.

they can even kill you.

a govt is a gang. a really advanced gang, but a gang nonetheless.

look at modern russia. look at all of the graft and violence happening relatively unabated over there. people describe it as 1930’s america. and they’re right. think about all of the criminals of the time. capone. the mob. booze runners like the kennedy’s were just put of business by the repeal of prohibition. and had to go legit.

the ones who did go legit are hugely important families now. the others are just criminals.

so think about conventional gangs of the moment.

crips, bloods, skinheads, ms-13, triads.

look at them as governments. would be governments. they try to rule by violence. they set up their own rules outside of those established byu the current ruling govt.

extortion. what is extortion? the big govt calls it tax. same thing really.

they have leaders. lietenants. soldiers. turf. wars. laws. and colors.

gangs are encroaching on the territory of the big govt.

in order to rule. the govt has to bring them in line. if they don’t, it is called lawlessness. that just really means that their laws (our laws) are no longer observed. and the rival gang enforces their own brand of justice.

they’re encroaching.

they should be eradicated.

violently.

    1. Ok, it works, finally…I can post a comment, but it still won’t remember my personal info when I hit “Yes”. I’m happy I can post comments though! 🙂

    2. The offensive portions of the USA-PATRIOT Act are not “the virtually exact same legislation to beat the mob,” as you witlessly claim.
The tools used against the Mob were the RICO Statutes:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RICO_%28law%29
“Although some of the RICO predicate acts are extortion and blackmail, one of the most successful applications of the RICO laws has been the ability to indict or sanction individuals for their behavior and actions committed against witnesses and victims in alleged retaliation or retribution for cooperating with law enforcement or intelligence agencies.

Sections 213, 215, 216 and 505 are the sticking points that perhaps swing wide of the Constititution– according to some Republicans even– certainly past anything used to bring down the Mob. The rest of this massive document is agreed to be useful and proper.

Ha. Reminds me of the Bob Dylan line “Steal a little and they throw you in jail/Steal a lot and they make you king!”

    3. bow down to your boy teddy k.. he drives drunk off of chappaquiddick and kills a girl, and they put him on the ethics committee.

no, i wasn’t talking about the rico statutes.

STILL, the wikipedia is anything anyone can publish. it is not necesarily fact you retard. how many times do we have to tell you.

what, if i cite a past entry on my blog, give you the link, is it fact? i can post to wiki. are you catching a clue now? i HAVE posted to wiki. do you ever accept what i say at face value.

wiki, everytime you cite it, you make my case stronger. the best you do is quote a public website?

no opinion on gangs? that was the topic, afterall. the closest thing you came to commenting on topic was your affirmation of your baal like masters in the democratic party as huge thieves.

    4. “no, i wasn’t talking about the rico statutes.”
what parts of PATRIOT, then, were used to break up organized crime? Phone-tapping? Duh.

“no opinion on gangs? that was the topic, afterall.”
Gov’ts can be thought of as gangs, yes. Insurgencies/revolutions as rival gangs, sure.
Terrorists? Maybe, maybe not. Their cell structures (decentralization) make them somewhat different. And their aims are more like simply inflicting damage, as opposed to any real notion of taking over, no?

I have no idea what Kennedy has been saying about anything lately, so I’m not sure why you bring him up. As for Chappaquiddick, why hasn’t W’s Justice Dept. taken TK down yet?!?! My theory, which I’ve told you before, is that a deal was made at the highest level of Dems and Repugs a looooooong time ago to forgive and forget their respective past errors of judgement. Anyway, negligent manslaughter is different than premeditated murder. Write to your elected reps about it, why don’t you? I think it should have gone to trial, too, for phuque’s sake, but I was kinda out of the loop (only a toddler) at the time and never voted for the man.

Is there something UNfactual in the specific Wikipedia entry that I cited? Or any of the ones I’ve cited in the past? Point out their faults, with proof, or shut the phuque up! Its track record is pretty good, and only getting better as time goes on.
