i recently made the prediction that foreign governments wouldn’t render too much aid, if any, to us as a result of katrina.
for the most part, i was right. they gave us a trifle of what we gave them. even adjusted for gnp.
but for the blockquote below, i’ll eat my words. i found the link at michelle malkin‘s place.
Iraqi soldiers serving at Taji military base collected 1,000,000 Iraqi dinars for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Iraqi Col. Abbas Fadhil, Iraqi base commander, presented the money to U.S. Col. Paul D. Linkenhoker, Taji Coalition base commander, at a Sept. 5 staff meeting.
“We are all brothers. When one suffers tragedy, we all suffer their pain.”
Iraqi Col. Abbas Fadhil. The amount of money is small in American dollars – roughly $680 – but it represents a huge act of compassion from Iraqi soldiers to their American counterparts, said U.S. Army Maj. Michael Goyne.
almost makes me reconsider my position on muslims.
Thanks for this uplifting note; eeryone else is still on the blame game.
are your comments working yet?
I’m glad to see you back. Thanks for the good news. 🙂
Err. Why do we need aid? Aren’t we like a super-rich world-superpower or something? Although it was nice that Canada sent search and rescue teams in before the US Gov’t got its ass in gear. 🙂
Uh oh. You hold comments for moderation now. :p I’ll never been seen or heard from here again. 😉
