you have to hate those out of the ordinary phone calls from home.
i usually call home on sunday nights and talk to my folks. catch up on the latest gossip on my nieces and nephews. find out what my sisters are up to. and make sure everything is ok.
i called home this last sunday and as usual. not a lot new. just nice to talk to my folks.
my dad called me monday around 10 am my time. he put my mom in the hospital sunday night.
long story short. she had around 3 minor heart attacks in the last 8-10 days and is scheduled for the first open heart (triple bypass) after lunch tomorrow. nope, it wasn’t indigestion after all.
my dad doesn’t think i need to come home. the doctors are confident; after the angiogram today, that she will come through just fine.
i’m looking at flying home sometime around friday though. that way my mom is at least out of the icu, and i’ll get to spend some time with her before i have to fly back to the slave pit.
wish my mom luck please.
Went through those phone calls many times, particularly with my parents.
A year after I received a call on Valentines Day letting me know that my mother had just been in a near-fataly car accident, I received a call telling me that my Grandma was in ICU and it looked bad, and when I was getting ready to travel up to them I received another call to let me know that my dad had a heart attack and was in the same ICU as my Gram.
So, I know the feeling.
I hope your Mom pulls through this and I’m sure that with you there, she will.
Remember, these procedures are done all the time.
My thoughts are with you.
God keep your mom, and hold her in the hollow of his hand. She’s in my prayers. As you are.
all partisanship aside, i dearly hope your mom comes thru this alright.
Yeah, good luck and tell her that we all hope she’s ok. Doctors aren’t usually confident like that though, so it’s a good sign.
My brother went through some horrendous heart surgeries and is still doing, many years later, quite well.
The simple power of your presence and your love is a healing thing. My sons’ love and confidence in me saw me through a year of chemo. So, just be loving her…
You and she will be in my thoughts and prayers. Travel safely, and don’t feed her any spicy tex-mex while you’re home. Moms are cool.
You and your Mom are in my prayers.
my hubbie’s mom went in this week actually because she was having chest pains…turns out she’s fine…but they’re doing stress test on her anyway. hope your mom pulls through with no problems. 🙂 you and your mom will be in my thoughts and prayers…keep me posted.
mom came through the angiogram cath procedure just fine and the surgery today, also. Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers. Seems like we can all pull together on some subjects, But diversity of opinions is what make life fun! Savagemodel99
