meet mlah the vampire.
i feel totally like vlad the impaler. hey! mlah the impaler!
i work nights so i get to miss most of the heat. it actually gets down to around 75 or so at night. just before sunrise.
then that cursed ball o fire comes out to play. and your humble narrator resorts to skitting from shade tree to shade tree to move around base. exposing yourself to the sun for too long at a time means the sun wants to burn the flesh from your bones.
it is that hot.
there is something called a “wet bulb index”, which is like the reverse of the wind chill. it’s how hot it feels out.
so, although the temp says it’s a mere 120 or so, the wet bulb says 140.
it’s like turning a blow dryer on high and blowing it right in your face. but oh, it’s giant! the whole wind is like the blow dryer. not just the little stream of air.
so i work nights. and i stay inside.
i AM the impaler!
You just be sure to let us know if you decide to start quenching your thirst with, er, untraditional beverages.
Now you’re a target for Buffy….unless you take on a Spike-ish role.
Dave, The WBGT works on the principle of evaporation, It is a function of humidity and temp. Ergo, The WBGT temp should normally be considerably below the actual temp. When I was a young shave tail at Ft. Sill, OK their directives. stated that when the WBGT was at 86 degrees or highter ALL Training was to stop.. Notice I said training. not combat opns. savagemod99
Real life vampires are instructed by their “book” not to drink blood, so don’t go getting any ideas.
Oh, and what is the time difference? Since we seem to keep playing tag lol
